1. Commitment

Clinical Audit Compass Ltd is committed to making its platform accessible to all users, including those who rely on assistive technology. This Statement applies to the Clinical Audit Compass mobile applications for iOS and Android, and to our website at clinicalauditcompass.co.uk.

We regard accessibility as a professional obligation rather than a compliance exercise. The platform exists to help registered clinicians evidence their practice, and a clinician who cannot use it is excluded from that. We would rather state our position honestly, including where we currently fall short, than claim a standard we have not met.

2. Compliance Status

The Clinical Audit Compass mobile application is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. The non-compliances are listed in Section 4 below.

This assessment is based on a structured self-assessment audit completed on 16 September 2026 against all 55 applicable Level A and Level AA success criteria of WCAG 2.2.

3. What Works Well

• Native iOS and Android components that inherit platform-level accessibility features

• Compatibility with VoiceOver on iOS and TalkBack on Android for navigation and reading order

• Logical focus order through forms, including the clinical log creation flow

• Persistent visible labels on inputs rather than placeholder text alone

• Password managers and paste function correctly in the password field, so login does not depend on transcription or recall

• No information is conveyed by colour alone

• Text is rendered as real text throughout, not as images of text

• Screen titles are announced on arrival, and status changes are announced without moving focus

4. Known Accessibility Issues

The following do not currently meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Each is listed with the relevant success criterion and our planned remediation.

Some visible button text is not included in the accessible name, which prevents activation by voice control. Insufficient colour contrast in text	1.4.3	Grey secondary text measures 2.68:1 and some placeholder text 1.35:1, against a required 4.5:1. White text on the teal button measures 2.33:1. This makes text harder to read for users with low vision.	Darken secondary text and revise the teal and primary blue used behind white text. Q1 2027.
Insufficient contrast in icons and graphics	1.4.11	Icon glyphs on tinted circular backgrounds measure between 1.24:1 and 2.33:1 against a required 3:1, making them difficult to distinguish.	Darken glyph or background colours to meet 3:1. Q1 2027.
Content truncated at largest text sizes	1.4.4, 1.4.10	At maximum Dynamic Type, text within fixed-height tiles is cut off rather than reflowing, so some labels are incomplete.	Allow containers to grow with text size and wrap labels across lines. Q1 2027.
No landscape orientation	1.3.4	The app is locked to portrait. This affects users with mounted devices or who cannot easily rotate a device.	Enable landscape orientation and verify layout in that mode. Q1 2027.
Autofill content type	1.3.5	The email field offers saved passwords rather than saved email addresses, making autofill less useful.	Correct the declared content type on credential fields. Q1 2027.
Small touch targets	2.5.8	A small number of controls measure 22 by 22 pixels, below the 24 by 24 minimum. Many others meet the minimum but fall below the Android platform recommendation of 48 pixels.	Increase undersized controls to meet the minimum, and progressively to the platform recommendation. Q2 2027.

5. Disproportionate Burden

We do not claim disproportionate burden for any of the issues listed above. All are considered remediable and are scheduled for correction.

6. How This Statement Was Prepared

This Statement was prepared on 16 September 2026 following a structured self-assessment of the Clinical Audit Compass mobile application against WCAG 2.2 Level AA.

Methods used:

• Automated scanning of 32 application screens using the Android Accessibility Scanner, which returned 235 findings including measured colour contrast ratios

• Manual testing with VoiceOver on iOS, covering navigation, reading order and announced labels

• Manual testing at maximum Dynamic Type and maximum Android font size

• Manual testing of orientation, autofill behaviour, focus order and error handling

Limitations of this assessment:

• This was a self-assessment carried out by the Founder and Director, not an independent external audit

• Automated tooling was used on Android only; iOS was assessed manually without Xcode Accessibility Inspector

• The assessment covers the mobile application. The website was not assessed in this round

• One criterion (2.4.11 Focus Not Obscured) was not assessed and will be covered at re-audit

An independent external accessibility audit is planned once resources allow. Re-assessment will be carried out following remediation and after any significant change to the user interface.

8. Feedback and Reporting Problems
